Tire Rotations
Our techs rotate your tires to ensure more even wear. Uneven tread wear causes tires to fail, especially in inclement weather. The type of tire rotation your vehicle needs depends on its wheel size and drivetrain: FWD, RWD, AWD, or 4x4. The tire rotations performed most frequently include the:
- Rearward cross
- Forward cross
- X-pattern
- Front-to-rear
- Side-to-side
Wheel Alignment
Wheel alignments are just as important as tire rotations. Daily driving can cause wheels to slip out of alignment. Bumps in tire walls, repeated loss of tire pressure, unusual wheel vibrations, and front-end movements when cruising over flat surfaces are all symptoms. Driving on wheels that do not properly align is inefficient and dangerous. Aligned wheels make for a smoother ride, improve fuel efficiency, and help tires last longer. We advise a wheel alignment, or at least a check of your wheels, during an oil/filter change.
Oil and Filter Changes
Thanks to newer engine technology, today's vehicles can go longer periods before needing a change of oil and filters. However, our Buick GMC-certified techs recommend an oil change at least once annually, or every 7,500 miles. Oil lubricates your Buick or GMC vehicle's engine and keeps it clean of debris and particulate matter. A clean, well-lubricated engine works more efficiently over a longer lifespan. Air and cabin filters keep dust, debris, and dry particulate matter from entering the engine housing and the cabin. Due to their vital function, old filters should get replaced at the same time you get an oil change.
Short-Term and Long-Term Service Checkups
Our dealership service techs want you to leave your Buick or GMC model's major service jobs to us. There are short-term service checkups you can perform on your own, like:
- Checking your vehicle's electrical/lighting at least once per month
- Learning your vehicle's warning signals/lights
- Keeping an eye on your Tire Pressure Monitor
- Keeping tires at optimal pressure
- Checking seasonal coolant levels
- Checking tire tread depth
To check tire tread depth, place a penny in one of your tire's treads. The profile of Lincoln should be upside down. If the tire tread depth doesn't cover Lincoln's hair, then the tire's tread is too worn, and the tire needs replacing.
Long-term service checkups include checking and changing your vehicle's transmission fluid. Like engine oil, transmission fluid lubricates the transmission's moving parts, enhancing efficiency while preventing damage. We're also happy to:
- Check/change transfer case fluid
- Flush your vehicle's cooling system
- Check spark plugs
- Change serpentine belt
- Inspect the front/rear differentials
- Inspect shocks/struts
